One month to go
One month to go to the big ride, and here's what I've learnt so far:
* You can't bunny hop a road bike..
* If you do, you lose your water bottle and it gets run over
* A two hour ride without a water bottle is not ideal
* the bike paths in rich surburbs are much nicer than the bike paths in poor suburbs
* I still can't navigate anywhere without GPS
210km with no experience - What could go wrong?
So, the guys at work are supporting the Smith Foundation with a casual 210km bike ride around the bay in Melbourne.
It's a fantastic cause helping disadvantaged children access better learning opportunities, so I thought "Sounds Great, Lock me in".
Having committed myself to an event with no real understanding of the pain required, I was quickly appraised of the situation when calling friends to see if they had a bike I could use for the event.
Those who didn't cycle just looked at me strangely and said "No Sorry". Those that did cycle laughed, asked if I was joking, then laughed again and said it's crazy.
I like to think they just haven't had their cup of concrete yet.
In any case, a ride like this is nothing compared to the challenges many children live through each day, so I'd love your support with a small donation.
Many thanks in advance. I'm off to find some lycra.

Keep up the great work Adam.
I asked the kids and they said it’s ok if you dip into the funds raised to buy some pants and cover up those legs.
